Emergency Aid Reaches Families in Catanduanes Before the Holidays
Published: Dec 27, 2024 Reading time: 1 minute Share: Share an articleIn the wake of Super Typhoon Pepito, which left a trail of destruction across Catanduanes, we acted swiftly to provide much-needed relief to the most affected communities in Viga, Bagamanoc, and Panganiban. With the support of the Start Fund of the Start Network, we were able to assist 1,250 households, ensuring they had essential supplies to rebuild their lives before the holidays.

Providing Urgent Relief
Understanding the immediate needs of the affected families, we distributed:
✔ 300 dignity kits with hygiene essentials to restore comfort and dignity.
✔ 450 hygiene kits to help prevent disease and maintain cleanliness.
✔ 500 cash-for-shelter assistance to support house repairs.
We prioritized the most vulnerable groups, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, solo parents, and pregnant and lactating women, ensuring that those who needed help the most received it first.
Alongside the distribution, we conducted hygiene promotion sessions to equip families with knowledge on disease prevention, especially crucial in post-disaster conditions. Many residents expressed deep gratitude, with some sharing that this was the first time they had received this kind of support after a typhoon.
A Step Towards Recovery
As the holidays approached, our team worked tirelessly to ensure that families could begin rebuilding their lives with dignity and hope. Through cash-for-shelter assistance, we aimed to provide not just financial relief but a renewed sense of security for those whose homes were severely damaged.
Catanduanes was among the hardest-hit areas, and our commitment to delivering aid remains steadfast. In times of disaster, solidarity and swift action can make all the difference 💙🤝
